Our weekend with Jack

We had a nice weekend in with Jack. He has enjoyed looking at his toys on his playmat, and we caught the most angelic pose of him sleeping on his boppy!

Tummy Time with Jack!

Our friends Sarah and Brent were kind enough to lend us their play mat and we have started Jack on tummy time! He usually passes out in 5 minutes but we are working on getting him to lift up his precious head. Jack also enjoys laying on his back and staring up at the toys.

Gaining weight

Jack had his one month appointment earlier this week and we were shocked to find out that he is 7 pounds! This means that Jack gained 2 lbs and 10 ounces in one month. His doctor is THRILLED with his weight gain and we are so excited that our preemie is thriving! Jack was 21.25 inches long too. So far, our big guy is sticking to eating and sleeping. He has a few moments where he is wide awake, like after his bath. We are trying tummy time, but he pretty much falls asleep!

One month old

Jack is one month old today! We took him to the doctor last Tuesday and he was 5 lbs 15 oz. He goes back again on Tuesday and we'll see what he weighs then! The pic below is Grandma weighing him, he was as happy as could be.

Jack wanted to be packed with Grandma's suitcase! He wants to see California, Disneyland, and the puppies! Jack is also looking forward to meeting all of his family in California!

Jack is up to eating 2.5 ounces at once! He LOVES his food so much and hates when Mom wants to take photos instead of letting him eat...

Full blown hysteria

This is Jack in a Milk Induced Coma! He looks SO cute in the outfit from Brent and Sarah - thanks again!!

I love to cuddle with him! I am really trying to be careful and not 'undo' all the great sleep training that the NICU started (he will put himself to sleep if he is awake when I put him down! - thank you NICU nurses!). However, sometimes he is just too cuddly to part with!

Jack enjoying his days

Jack is now three weeks and 1 day - the time is flying! Neither Dave nor myself are getting much sleep, but we sure are enjoying every moment. Our little guy is up about every 2-3 hours at night to eat (and he takes about 45 minutes to take down a bottle) and during the day, he sleeps almost 4 hours between feedings - we wish we could reverse the days with the nights! His preemie clothing is starting to get filled out a little bit more as he gains weight. His Grandma Ellis is ready to get him a matching "UGA" Bulldog outfit to go with his gator outfit!!

Jack is 2 weeks old!

Jack is 2 weeks old! He celebrated his 2 week birthday with a trip to the doctor. He is now 4 lbs. 13 ounces, which is a really good weight gain for a preemie. He gained 4 ounces in 2 days, after his discharge from Winnie Palmer! The next day, Grandma Ellis and Steph gave Jack a bath. With Grandma holding Jack's pacifier for him, it was actually a pretty smooth process.

Coming Home!

Jack has arrived home!! He was released today at 3:30PM (weighing 4 lbs 9 ounces) and we've enjoyed our first bottle at home! Here are some pics from our release today...
