Connor Matthew Frings

Connor Matthew Frings arrived at 8:31am on Sunday, August 22nd.  He is 7 lbs 1 ounce, and 20 inches long.

My water broke on Saturday night at 10:00pm.  We showered, ate (I knew they wouldn't let me eat once I got to L&D), and arrived at the hospital just after midnight.  The doctors gave me until 3:30am to start contracting on my own, but that never happened, so I started Pitocin.

The doctors kept increasing the Pitocin every 15 minutes, but I still wasn't feeling any contractions that were painful.  Dave and I hung out and watched the Comedy Channel.  Chris Rock was on and was hilarious!!  Around 4:30 we both fell asleep and at 5:30am I woke up to some painful contractions.  They were 2-3 minutes apart, and I seriously felt like bones were being broken with each one.  I called for the epidural, and thankfully anesthesiology was able to get there in 30 minutes.  The epidural was heaven!

Around 8am, I told my nurse that I thought the epidural was wearing off.  They checked me, and sure enough 10 centimeters!  They called the doctors in, and my doctor said "We are going to get this baby out in 1 push!".  I pushed one time, and Connor was born!  I didn't think I could beat my record of only 5 pushes to deliver Jack, but I did!

Connor has dark brown hair, and navy blue eyes.  I *think* I can see some green or hazel in his eyes, so maybe this one will look like his Momma?!! :)

Jack has been a great big brother, and loves to give Connor kisses and little pats.  We are so proud of what a sweet big brother he is!

Jack came to visit us at the hospital every day.  He had brought in his Pooh bear, and then found the sunscreen in the diaper bag.  We always put sunscreen on Jack's hair at the pool, and Jack was putting sunscreen in Pooh's hair :)

The baby looks so tiny compared to his photos in the hospital with the cord still attached. His thighs and arms are buff in those photos. Jack is so helpful with Pooh.He has such a cute expression when he concentrates. I hope you know Aunti Karen and Uncle David will be checking this site 3 times weekly to watch Jack grow to 3 and Connor to be admiring Jack this first year. Connor will no doubt know his voice entering his room in a matter of weeks. You have done a wonderous birth. May your Joy be complete in Connor and in this awesome August 2010.
Aunti Karen sends love to all. Uncle David too.
